Checked the forum and people seem to be using the Ultra plan for
70.3 as well. But no info on why the International plan is soooo long?

Hi Mike,
Presently using the Ultra Distance plan getting ready for Ironman Florida. Looking at the other plans I don't see a 70.3 distance plan. Do you recommend using the Ultra Distance Plan for that as well? Also I was wondering why the International training program is longer than the Ultra distance? seems like a lot of training for that distance? Thanks for the coaching!

Mike,
I just got your IM 36 week program; I'm doing my first IM in Mexico Cozumel Nov. 29th 2009 and just have 23 weeks to race day. My last competition was a 1/2 IM in Nov. 2008 and since then not much training at all... Change work and move over China. Just wonder in which week I should start the programs as I just being biking and swimming randomly for just 1 week now.

Mike -
thanks for having the vision to create such a site! A fellow team member, Sarah DalFol suggested that we use the site as a place for the team to communicate about workouts, insetad of lots of emails back and forth.

Looks like you commented on one of my pics. Actually that was last year's bike. We tweaked the geometry a bit and went carbon fiber...custom Calfee tetras. Weighs in two lbs lighter and it much smoother. I had the one Mr. Scott rode in '94 and while it didn't fit great I did some of my best ever riding on it.

To answer your question...hell ya we're doing Columbia. It's a great race and I can sleep in my own bed the night before. I'm thrilled that this year it's 4 weeks out of Eagleman, usually it's only 3.

No, Flying, but flying leaves a huge carbon footprint as well, So i'm including in my overall numbers. I may take it out later if it is too lopsided. The idea to is to try to use HPV for day-today stuff...

I have driven from Anchorage to Mexico before though. Went on a 6 month climbing roadtrip and drove from Anchorage to Mexico to Kentucky and back with lots in between..... Lots of driving.....

Hi Rick, There's actually a group associated with that topic, which Nate monitors fairly frequently. I kept strength and core training out of the plan because people's needs and available resources/equipment/etc. are very diverse. Hope that help...
