Thanks for the encouragement Tim. I had a pretty touh day out there, much tougher than I thought I would.Swim felt great for first one of the season, about 30 miles into the ride I had lower back spasms and that just sucked the power out of the rest of my bike, felt demoralized on the run walking portions of it , wondering if what I was doing and how I felt was going to hurt my build to Cdlane,,It was a reality check for me as to where my present conditioning is and where I want it to be, Do I have the time available to commit to C'dLane. All that crap that goes on inside when you feel demoralized. My biggest focus wil be rebuilding my run ,bike volumes and if I can get a handle on the back spasms ...that would be huge......any thoughs on that?

Kind of like the run and the rule of thumb to add 1 minute per mile to your normal marathon pace to get an idea of what your Ironman marathon pace will be close to. Last year I used the Computrainer a lot for IMAZ, however, a crash on race day… Continue

Insomnia

It's 1:22 AM and for some reason I can't sleep. It's been this way for two nights now. The strange thing is I should be exhausted since it has been a long training week and the last two days have been my long days. I did a 76 mile bike at 21 mph followed by a 3 mile run yesterday and then didn't sleep but a few hours last night. Today, I did a 20 mile run at an 8:08 pace and now I can't sleep again. Bummer!

Why is it that we put ourselves through this? I often wonder but really never come to a… Continue
