HR Zone Rambling

So I just finished week 4 and feel pretty darn good. I've been monkeying with my HR zones and have finally found what I think is a good range. I'm fairly certain my running max HR is about 195, which doesn't quite fit the 220-age(189 for me), but is reasonable close. The biggest change I've found in the last 6 weeks has been my resting HR. When I first set my zones, my resting was around 50, now it's down to 38.... This has caused a broadening of my zones, with just a bit of a downshift....

First Blog Rambling

So I've set off on my training for my 1st ironman. I signed up in Sept for IMC and am now into week 3 of Mike's ultra-plan. So far so good, except I hate swimming in pools so my swim times are not following the plan... oh,well.

As I look down the road and set my goals for the year, I'm trying to find a balance between dreaming too big, and aiming too low. I find myself unable to commit to a basic goal. I dream of going sub-10 on my 1st IM, and can't seem to pull myself away from the dream. I kn… Continue
