Got it on the new bike - two lbs is significant!

And four weeks between Columbia and Eagleman is awesome...I the way the days/dates line up is beneficial this year. We'll take it either way!

Good luck getting ready for the early season racing -- any break in the weather would be nice...

Lou, it was great to meet you as well. Thanks for all of the info. The next time I come to town I will bring my bike and we can go for a ride. Also, as I told Larry, I will be in Maryland in the spring to do Columbia in preparation for Coeur d'Alene. I'm going to head out early tomorrow for my run as well, so maybe I'll see ya on the trail. j

Hey, Alyson. My address is 404-J Aggies Circle, Bel Air, MD 2104. My brother lives across the street, 409-L. I was telling Paul Ryan about this and he was very interested, if you don't mind including him. Paul's address is 1311 Bristol Ridge Place, Crownsville, MD 21032.

This is very, very nice of you to organize. Thank you!! Hope all is well with you and your family.

Lar and I are definitely in. Good idea. Last year we ate in one of the lounges at the Hyatt since the restaurants were booked. It was fine but this sounds like a much better plan. Thanks, Alyson.

Thanks for your interest, Peter. My bro and I love the Yaquis and cant wait for Ves to complete his new Carbo. I think there's one red and one purple one f.s. Shoot my bro a quick e-mail at lotremba@comcast.net. He can tell you what we have. I know he had an inquiry a day or so ago, but I'm not sure if the buyer committed. Best of luck, Lou

Thanks Lou! I am going to need every one of those days just to get to the point where I can finish - and that may be a tall order!

NBC's Kona Coverage

Is it just me or does it seem that NBC is missing the ethos of IM? For the record I really like Al Trautwig and it goes without saying that the camera crews do a tremendous job. It seems pretty well conveyed that Kona is a world championship for professionals, but for amateurs, the vast majority, the coverage suggests like all you need is a great story or tragedy to secure your race spot. Don't misunderstand that I admire the heck out of the Hoyts or John Blaze or Dave Rozell, etc., but I thi

Race Prep 08

No kidding, in the interest of racing well at Eagleman 2008 I picked up, and just finished, James Michener's book "Chesapeake" (linked below), which is a saga of life along the Choptank River. At 1001 pages it's a tome, but a very good one. Took me a long time to get through it, reading a few dozen pages each morning over coffee. Michener also wrote another epic book called "Hawaii" ...I hear there's a good race over there, too.
