Hey John and Brian,
Looks like you both had a good day at the race. Can you believe the weather? I don't think you could have asked for a better day. I was pleased with my performance. If you take out the 11 minutes I spent changing my flat tire I...
Hey Brain and John,
Well it's almost here! Finished the last run and spin yesterday. Just a short swim scheduled this afternoon. My body is feeling OK. The achilles actually felt better yesterday. I normally work all night shifts but changed the ...
John
Congrats on chasing down your other dream. As for me, I'm still working in the basement - I have the corner office in a basement. Also, good luck on the 24 hour shift. That's gotta be tough.
I'll be in Louisville around 3pm or so to check in...
I guess my post yesterday didn't go through.
I finished the 2:30 ride on Sunday and was glad to be done! I thought for sure something was going to go wrong but I had a nice easy ride and felt great. Yesterday I did the 30min run and had more pain...
Hey John,
I started wearing the Straussberg sock when I got Plantar Fasciitis a while back. They help keep the feet, achilles, and calves stretched out while you sleep. They really do help decrease the morning pain. Most recentely, when I injured ...
John,
Sorry to hear about your achilles, I feel your pain. Mine has been holding steady for the past several weeks, no better-no worse. I sleep with a Straussberg sock on, this keeps the ankle at 90 degrees. When I wake up there is always a little...
Hi Laura, I am going to Louisville to ride the IM course this Sat. (Apr. 25th) I was going to try to mimick the actual course as best as possible...Do you recommend a good water bottle refill spot... any other suggestions??! Thank you!
Thanks again. Very informative. I wanted to do IMMOO agin this year because it is so close and convenient, but, you had to be on-site to sign up. Looking around I found IM Louisville still open, filled out the entry form, hit Send and wondered right away whether I did the right thing. In 2004 IMMOO was extremely hot and I suffered. In 2006 it was cold and raining the whole day, but I did much better. So, with the heat in mind it get me thinking. You are right IMMoo is hilly too. I've always ridden a 11-21 rear cluster, but, I am thinking about switching to a 12-27. Any thoughts? I'd like to get down to Louisville at least once to ride the course.
I love the Ironman series races and I agree to volunteers and spectators are all so great. I look forward to recapturing those moments.
Thank you for creating this group. The IM Louisville will be my first. Hopefully I'll get some cool pics to post on my page (my wife and I take mostly cat and dog pictures)! We are traveling to Louisville to ride the course in June (is that possible; traffic?)
Thanks for all the helpful information! I'll be sure to keep all of it in mind.... Just finished the swim workout. Did the bike at 5 am. Good times.... Good times..... :)
Finally I found another Mom! Congrat on Louisville. I am a mom of two also. Daughter 71/2 and son almost 9. I am signed up for my first IM Wisconsin. I have done marathons for years. I plan on starting the super coach plan the first week in January and I am very excited. Any helpful hints? Do you also work outside the home? Donna
