Don't laugh- I'm serious!
I've had the good fortune to be able to do almost all my swim training in the last few months in rivers (against the current) and lakes, in my wetsuit. I find even in the pool, but more so in open water, I get really nause…
You know Lyle, I say contact tattoo establishments in Penticton- they are always super busy the day after the race. They will have the best ideas- they might even have an IM portfolio you can take a look at.
Maybe combine the design with something…
I've raced ultras with camelbaks- never again. While a bike bottle takes almost no time for a race staffer to refill, they will struggle with a camelbak. (Not belittling race volunteers here- I try to look as many as I can in the eye and thank them)…
Nice job with the passing 400 people. Actually i've been a member of ceevacs for about 5 or 6 years now. i really enjoy their xmas parties. i occasionally join the Tuesday speed sessions in the winter and almost always pull something and sometimes go on Saturdays depending on what my family is doing. They always seem to have something going. Have you joined? Sheron mentioned that she had met you and that you were busy with school.
My plans are simpler for next season. I just want to learn how to run. I have been doing too many long slow runs with a lot of walking over the years and thought I would try to get back to really short running races before tackling another marathon.
You sound like you have an incredible amount of energy. Good luck with your adventure race this weekend! Let me know how it goes.
I met Don several years ago and he remembered me from flag football. He interviewed my husband when he qualified for Hawaii Ironman. So earlier this year i saw Don swimming in the lane next to mine and he said he would come by later in the year for an interview.
I left a long winded message and promptly lost it.
I'll try to remember what i said.
Ky, as in Kyla. We have been looking for you all year and i thought i would bump into in the pool. Don Bodger is looking for you to interview you as well but couldn't find your contacts. He is also doing a followup story on everyone. I'm sure he would be happy to hear from you. He's at the News Leader pictorial. He seemed bummed out that he couldn't find you but i assured him that you will be doing more incredible things having done Ironman so young.
I would be happy to meet with you sometime to find out more about your IM experiences.
WOW....Good Luck! Have heard that IMC is really a beautiful course. Have you dome other triathlons before?
I am getting better with the caffeine now that the warmer weather is here - it seems to help keep me warm in the winter as I am always cold. although I am in the habit of having a cup in the afternoon after lunch, to help combat the "food coma" from lunch! ha ha ha....
I know I drink entirely too much coffee too! Although its essential for me working at a desk all day - staring at numbers and a computer screen all day - after a hard morning of working out. Some days are worse than others.
Is IMC goign to be your first full IM?? I did IM Lake Placid as my first in 2007.
