Week 4 Review

Week four is done! I am feeling pretty good. However, I ought to be after not working out asm uch as my program called for during this past week. I kinda fell off the wagon a bit with work stuff as well as all the fast approaching holiday. Anyway, my goal for this week is to get some much needed rest and get back under the swing of training!

Week 3 Review

Ok so I can't believe week 3 has already finished. After this coming week I will have been officially training for about a month and can't believe it...time flew! Anyway, I was forced over the weekend this past weekend to make some adjustments to my plan due to the weather here in good ol' north jersey. I am sure I wasn't the only one!

Anyway, not too much to report. I am feeling good...have been getting plenty of rest, but of course could always use a little more...and am feeling good! Its alm… Continue

Week 2 Review

Ok, well week 2 is officially done. I was kind of bummed by the weather this morning as I have been adjusting my plan to ride twice long. By riding both Saturday and Sunday for roughly 4 hrs. each day at this point is definitely increasing my aerobic fitness as well as my endurance. I have been very smart to not only ride (as well as run) much longer than I have in recent years...however, I have been very aware of getting the required rest that comes along with the increased training to ensure m… Continue

Week one review!

Ok, so I have finished my first "official" week or training for this years Ironman LP. I say the first official week because I have been base building sinse Lake Placid this past July. My shoulder feels great and I am feeling really fit. It has only been one week...however, during training my blood sugar (I am a type one diabetic) has been stable and I got in 13.5 hours of training.

I know the amount of training I am currently doing is a lot. However, I have the base to support it and have over… Continue

Its Official...Training for IM LP has Begun!

Ok, so once again its been a while. I am going to try to be more consistent with the blogging this season to track my performance and be able to reflect on my situation. I had a difficult season last year with being hit by a car in middle of May. Followed by a surgery leaving a plate and 8 screws in my right shoulder and hours and hours of physical therapy and couch time.

However, I was able to get on the treadmill with my sling on and spend some time on the trainer. Towards the end of the seao… Continue

Figured out why my HR was not climbing on the bike it was because I did not tighten the trainer tight enough. Simple little things sometimes.

This snow is putting a delay on any outdoor training. But I guess the weather is fitting with the holidays around the corner. Enjoy you holiday and keep shoveling. Haha. Damn Snow.

I had great success last night at the pool. I keep my head down looking at the bottom of the pool. This allowed me to keep my lower half from sinking. Slow steps to doing the right thing. I probably did 12 "25's" with a 15 sec break after each one.

Lets try to set up a schedule to meet at the pool. In Dec I was thinking of going 3x/wk just to work on it.

No it was 50 x 4= 200. I will take it slow. Can I use my HRM in the water?
