I did the Pancake!!!!!

I am just happy to report that I did Patanella's "Flat as a Pancake" sprint Tri on 6/27 and I finished. (After 1 year recovery from a horrible bike acciedent) I was not the 1st in my age group, but I am proud to say I wasn't the last. I felt like wearing a t-shirt that said..."I may be slow, but I'm not dead!". I just want to thank all my Greenbrook racing friends for supporting me through this year and encouraging me to return back to multi-sport. See, anything is possible.

Week of June 15-21 (WYCKOFF!!!)

Congrats to everybody that did the Wyckoff race. As usual, there was some stiff competition out there.

The weather was kind to us on Saturday and we had a great morning to race. My goal for the race was to crack the top 30 so I could race with the elites next year. I had a strong swim, I got a little faster on the bike, and dropped a full two minutes off my run from two years ago. I finished in 1:37:18, which was good enough for 19th overall and 5th in my age group. I was very pleased with my r… Continue

I'm back!!!!!

I just want to post this blog to tell everyone the magic of multi-sport. A year ago, Easter Sunday, I had a horrific bike crash in which I broke my neck, both arms and my pelvis. (I blogged this last year) Well it is June a year and a few months later and I am planning to do my first tirathlon since my accident. I will do Patanella's Flat as a Pancake, this Sat, the 27th of June. I have returned to all 3 sports (yes I am on my new bike). I have to say it has been quite the process, but with the… Continue

Lake Placid Training Weekend

Had a fantastic training weekend up in Lake Placid. We went up on friday, and got in an hour swim in the afternoon. The underwater lines have been moved, set up now for rowing i think. swimming the loop felt long, and my time was longer than anticipated, so i'm not sure if it was truly just a 1.2 mile loop. but it's so nice swimming in that lake it really doesn't matter!

saturday we got out on the bikes. i did this same training weekend in 2007. that year, riding the course (112 miles) took me… Continue
